Grant is an enthusiastic and energetic teacher with a true passion for science and an extensive knowledge of the Chemistry 30 diploma exam. He has been teaching Chemistry 20, Chemistry 30 and AP chemistry in his School District for eight years and has been an active contributor to such initiatives as Alberta Education's high school redesign and his District's chemistry KPI. In 2011, Grant was recognized with a nomination for the APEGA Teacher Award. Outside of the classroom, Grant is an avid musician, bowler and mountain climber, and enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and 18 month old daughter

An instructor at National Sport school working with students committed to training in Olympic sports, she knows how motivate and inspire students within restricted time frames. Her reviews from her students always speak of her extensive knowledge of biology and of the diploma exam and her high energy. When not in the classroom she can be found with her 3 young sons in xc skiing, gymnastics and outdoor pursuits. Kris is an avid runner herself and participates in soldiers of fitness program, challenge courses and her newest pursuit body sculpting.

BSc/BEd University of Lethbridge

Ben, in his ninth year of teaching, calls Coalhurst High School his second home. His teaching assignment includes Biology, Chemistry, Physics. Ben is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic educator who enjoys working with students as they further their understanding in all of the sciences. He has recently begun his Master's in Science at Montana State University. Away from the classroom Ben enjoys family time with his beautiful wife Nicole, 5 year-old son Will and 2 year-old daughter Lily. If he does get free time away from the kids, he is probably found reading, watching sports events, or enjoying some time hiking..
