English 30-1 Diploma Prep at Canyon Meadows
Designed around the diploma’s two written-response assignments, I: Personal Response to Texts and II: Critical/Analytical Response to Literary Text, this course shows students how to interpret literature and write at a high level under exam conditions.
Led by our experienced and beloved teacher Jeremy Cowan, students will learn how to:
- Analyze and respond to previously unseen literary texts, a core expectation of both written assignments
- Plan and write clear, high-scoring Personal Responses and Critical/Analytical Essays
- Understand how marks are awarded across key categories like ideas, evidence, structure, and correctness
- Recognize patterns in Part B reading questions based on unseen texts
Focused, practical, and aligned with Alberta Education - students leave with a clear strategy for both written and multiple-choice success.
Location: Canyon Meadows Community Hall — Main Hall
